paul encourages julia, helping, understanding her all the way along. when she says she wants to cook, he buys her the cookers and cookbooks which is though in french; when she says she could not read the book, he says he will translate it into english; when she's so upset since her book is again refused by the publishers, paul holds her hand and says,"your book is so brilliant, your book is going to change the world."plus,"fuck them."

he says to her,"let's go home."julia smiles:"where is home?"

he says:"home is where we are."
